I am a dynamic, engaging teacher with a B.S. in Chemistry and a Masters in Education.
I have spent the majority of my professional career teaching English as a Second Language to high school students and adults in Japan, Malaysia and Chile. In addition, I recently spent three years teaching English as a Second Language/English Language Arts in an international high school in the Bronx, New York. My experience also includes 3 years teaching the SAT in a high school setting, as well as in private one-on-one tutoring sessions. I have an in-depth understanding of all 3 sections of the SAT (Critical Reading, Writing and Math) and a curriculum to help achieve the best possible test score on the exam.
I have had the opportunity to instruct a wide variety of students from various backgrounds and all facets of society. As a result, I have developed excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and leadership skills. It is my goal to offer positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep students focused and motivated, while maintaining an open and supportive classroom, in which my students feels safe, special and appropriately challenged.
