A versatile, journeyman student during my undergraduate and graduate days, my credentials include a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies in Middle East Studies and a Masters in Anthropology.
As a writing consultant to upper-division Anthropology students during graduate school, I have developed expertise in writing and research skills for the discipline. My Masters thesis explores the affective practices of prayer among a city-dwelling population of born-again Christians in the South. If you need assistance with cultural theory or someone to brainstorm with for your Honors thesis or IRB protocol procedures, I can provide those services as well.
My undergraduate major was in Middle East Studies and I studied college-level Arabic for three years, including a study abroad in Egypt. Also feel free to contact me if you need assistance with reading, writing, speaking, or grammar concepts covered in the earlier portion of the Alif Baa/Al-Kitaab curriculum (up to the first half of Book 1 of Al-Kitaab).
My encounters with speakers of other languages, as well as my mother's background as an early childhood educator and ESOL instructor, have provided me a set of skills and resources that might prove helpful to children in early grades who need assistance in reading, writing, or vocabulary skills, and non-native English speakers of all ages.
I received my Master of Arts in Anthropology from Georgia State University in May 2013. During my time with the program, I also functioned as a Writing Consultant for one of the upper-division undergraduate courses, and my duties included assisting students with developing writing and library research skills for the discipline.
