Hello students & parents!
My name is Deen and I am a graduate student currently completing my MS degree in Organic Chemistry at Long Island University-Brooklyn. I previously attended Wesleyan University for 4 years, where I graduated from a major of Chemistry in addition to doing 3 years of research. After obtaining my Master's, I plan on continuing on to obtain my PhD in Food Science.
I know what it is like to need extra training in a particular subject but to be skeptical or wary of seeking help. Although I excelled in my studies throughout primary and middle school, high school presented me with my first true obstacle in maintaining the high standards I set for my own education. Reluctantly, I began voluntary study hall sessions with 3 different private tutors at the suggestion of my advisers. Not only were these tutors helpful to me in their respective specialties, but they became excellent friends. These young men and women made me realize that although I prided myself on being independent, it was healthy and necessary to able to communicate freely with someone- without judgement- to reach a proficiency in a certain subject that rivaled or mirrored theirs.
I have a passion for the sciences but I am interested in helping in other areas as well. I welcome students of all levels. I look forward to working with you!
