What can you anticipate when you select Neikisha as your tutor? For starters, you can always anticipate a pleasant smile and a ready-to-work attitude, though many may consider the former to be on the periphery of what's most important in a tutor I believe that a pleasant attitude goes a long way in the learning process. I have been a tutor since my college days and have maintained constant employment as such over the past 7 years. The students that I have assisted range in age from 6 to 50 and I have maintained an active relationship with them even after our working relationships have ended, all with great success I might add.

I tailor my lessons and entire programs to the needs of my students, always keeping in mind that the learning experience is not uniform and what works for one student may not work for another. For instance, I have taught basic algebra using mnemonic devices and have taught elementary math using Popsicle sticks and counting marbles on the front stoop.I find what works for my students and I EMPLOY IT TO PERFECTION.

My vocabulary is extensive and I have an excellent command of the English language and have tutored students into acing New York State ELA standards.

Above and beyond all else, I enjoy seeing the proverbial light-bulb moment a student has when a new piece of information is finally understood.

I look forward to empowering minds and I can assure you that with me, you get what you hoped for and more.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I served as President of the Brooklyn College Student Forensics, Speech and Debate Team from 2007 through my graduation in 2009. During my tenure our team participated in national competitions from Malibu to Montreal. I have extensive experience in preparing and delivering speeches in public and have helped, through workshops and seminars, many persons overcome their Glossopobia.
