My approach to physics is designed to meet the needs of each specific student. Learning a difficult subject is all about patience, and approaching the subject matter in a way that is appropriate for the student's goals.
I taught IB physics and middle school science for the 2011/2012 academic year while working at a boarding school in the Middle East. I developed a keen sense of student ability, which allows me to teach on the student's level. I was fortunate to work with students of all ages, and I understand the unique approach that each age group requires. I have experience working with students who don't have strong English skills, and can explain things in a number of different ways. Before teaching, I was an academic counselor and professional tutor for the previous year at the same school, and I started in that position after graduating from Williams College in 2010.
I have experience tutoring students for the SATs, AP physics B and C exams, IB exams in physics and math, and I have helped students with their homework in all of the high school sciences. In addition to studying physics and economics at Williams, I have a great deal of experience in astronomy, math, computer science, and philosophy.
Please talk to me about any related subject matter that you need help learning, and I will gladly explain my academic experience in that area. For commuting purposes, I get around either by bike or subway, and so I would estimate my radius is about 2 miles from either where I work at Borough Hall, or where I live in Carroll Gardens. I'm willing to travel farther distances if you are willing to cover my travel time. Contact me to see if we can work something out.
