I have been working as an Introductory Statistics Tutor at the Dolciani Math Learning Center (DMLC) of Hunter College (CUNY) since September 2011. My job requires me to have an excellent grasp of all the material covered in the college course of Elementary Probability and Statistics, since I am responsible for answering any specific material-related and general course-related questions that the students may have. I am experienced in providing clear and concise explanations and I try to facilitate the learning process of students by offering additional problems for them to work on. I also believe it is very important to discuss the real-world examples where the basic statistics theorems can be applied. My every workday, I work with small groups as well as with individual students to help improve their problem-solving strategies and their general understanding of the course material.
This upcoming Fall 2013 semester at Hunter College will be my 7th semester of tutoring introductory statistics (stat 113) at the DMLC of Hunter College. I enjoy teaching and explaining, and find that my tutoring strategies are very helpful to the students. I often meet my students after the end of semester, and am delighted to know of their success in class. I know that it is the result of our mutual efforts and study strategies.
