I am a college student, majoring in psychology and minoring in biology at City College of New York. For my future plans, I want to be a pediatrician. The reason why I want to be a pediatrician is, my passion to work with children and help them to overcome their obstacles. I have many experiences of working with children. I was a T4 volunteer, at Brooklyn Public Library. Being a T4 Volunteer, my job was to help kids and adults with technology, assist them in Microsoft Office and organize arts and crafts, Wii games and many more activities like these. The goal of my volunteering was to help kids to adapt to their surroundings, develop a self confidence and think creatively. After T4 volunteering completion, I worked as a Multicultural Intern at Brooklyn Public Library. My job was similar to volunteering. But being an intern, I was more focused on the developing an interaction between different cultures and races. The goal was to create a sense of unity and bring multiple cultures together as a unified community. My favorite job was working as a seasonal counselor at NYCHA ( New York City Housing Authority). I spent 3 months with kids, helped them in home work, took them to trips, encouraged them to face society and develop self esteem, organizing activities like cake baking, talent shows and many more like these, so they can develop self confidence. To define myself, all I say is that I have built my personality on a quote stated by some unknown scholar, " Nothing is impossible in this world, because impossible itself says I'm possible". I believe that a person can accomplish anything, if he has will and confidence on himself. This is the way that I teach kids, so they can rely for help on oneself rather than on someone else.
