Born and raised in Quebec in a homogenous French society, I have instructed peers and children from a young age in English as a Second Language. As a student of Drama at the prestigious Mount Allison University, I served as a T.A. for Introduction to Acting courses, as well as a workshop leader in Physical & Experimental Acting Workshops. Now you and your family can benefit from Sam’s unique skill set and affordable rates. I am available for tutoring in Literature, Drama and Creative Writing.
As a college student I received Honors in Classical Literature for my interpretation of several key excerpts from The Canterbury Tales by Chaucer and my critical reading of The Aeneid by Virgil. Later in university I received acclaim as a director for my productions of The Ghost Sonata by August Strindberg and The Zoo Story by Edward Albee and shorter experimental pieces with my own company, The Memorial Theatre Group.
I was also noted for my extended research in Biomechanical Acting Method (V. Meyerhold) and my encyclopedic knowledge of drama theory, sharp playwriting and poetry skill, and for textual interpretations of plays both classical and contemporary.
