Hello,
I am an experienced and passionate Science tutor and teacher. I love working with students and seeing them succeed in their quest for learning. Here is a little about me.

Education

I have a B.S. in Chemistry, with a concentration in Biochemistry and a minor in Education. I am working towards an M.A. in Science Education, Biological Sciences 5-12. I have a solid knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology and earth science as well as mathematics.

Experience

Currently, I work as a private tutor helping college, high school and middle school students with chemistry, biology and earth science courses. I have extensive experience working with children as a science teacher. I have worked with middle school students teaching Living Environment and Earth Science Regents classes to the gifted and talented, as well as traditional 6th, 7th and 8th grade curriculum. I have tutored or taught different areas of science in varying capacities for over 15 years. Students I work with show immediate improvement in their understanding of the subject matter and consequently their test scores.

Philosophy

I believe in learning for the sake of learning and I am very passionate about the subjects I tutor. I love working with people and helping them realize their potential. I help my students understand and remember material better by encouraging them to visualize concepts, organize ideas, use of simple but memorable analogies, and of course practice problem solving. I believe in treating students as individuals and creating the best learning environment for each student to succeed.

Biology

I have a degree in Chemistry with concentration in Biochemistry, so I have taken many college level biology courses such as general biology, molecular biology and developmental biology. I am currently working on a master's in Biology Education.

I have taught a Living Environment Regents class for 5 years and had a 100% passing rate.
I have also tutored Biology for over 15 years, ever since I was a college student.

Chemistry

I have a B.S. in Chemistry. I started to tutor Chemistry when I was still in college for the college Chemistry department and have continued to tutor privately ever since. I normally tutor Regents Chemistry, Introductory College Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. My tutoring experience adds up to well over 15 years.

Physical Science

Physical Science is a marriage between physics and chemistry. It is defined as the study of physics and chemistry of nature. I have a B.S. in Chemistry and as a science major have studied college level physics. I also have 8 years of experience teaching middle school physical science.

Organic Chemistry

I have a B.S. in Chemistry and extensive experience successfully tutoring organic chemistry I and II to college students. I began tutoring organic chemistry 12 years ago as a college student, for the Chemistry department at CCNY and still continue today. I help my students to visualize organic molecules, concepts and reactions better by utilizing molecular kits and graphic representations.

Regents

I tutor regents chemistry, living environment and earth science.

I have a B.S. in chemistry, with concentration in biochemistry, as well as 15 years of experience in tutoring and teaching chemistry to both college and high school students.

Living Environment
I have a background in biology and I am currently working on a master's in biology education. I have also taught the living environment Regents course for 5 years, with 100% passing rate.
