I have a lot of patience when teaching my students. I also have high expectations for all of them. In order to be successful the students need only to carry out the given instructions. I will try my best to make the subject simple and fun by creating opportunities for self discovery. I am prepared to work with students at all levels, and depending on your responses to some given questions I will be able to know your academic abilities and plan the subsequent lessons. My lessons will be built on what you, the students, already know. I will also focus on problem solving skills and incorporate as far as possible the use of technology that is available to the students.
My teaching experience includes, five years' full-time teaching math and physics to high school students in Guyana, as well as three years as a substitute teacher with the New York City Department of Education. I also did a total of six months of student teaching at the John Dewey High School and the STAR school at Erasmus. After graduating with a Master of Science in Automation Engineering, I completed a Master of Science in Math Education at the Brooklyn College in June 2012. I was also awarded a Mathematics 7-12 Public School teacher certificate from the State of New York Education Department.
