Howdy! My name is Yinxiao (Agnes) Y., a great Math fan and an experienced tutor, majoring in Secondary Math Education at New York University. I have worked with students of various ages and levels for more than 6 years. I enjoy helping students build confidence in manipulating Math while patiently guiding them to progress.

I have experience teaching in 1st, 3rd and 4th grade classrooms as a general practice teacher. In terms of tutoring experience, I tutored Math and Science at Kingsborough College, as well as group tutoring 7th and 8th graders. And I am currently tutoring Math at Robert Fulton Middle School for the New York University-America Counts Department. I really enjoy teaching and tutoring.

Based on my experience and what I have learned from my major, I generated some effective tutoring strategies: connecting new/complicated knowledge with prior/simpler knowledge so that students can comprehend better and easier; explaining knowledge with detailed demonstrations; reinforcing students' understanding with related exercise; helping students recognize and avoid common misunderstanding and pitfalls and so on. The effectiveness of these methods has already successfully been proven by my former students' great progress.

You can communicate with me in English, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. I am also proficient in reading and writing the language I listed above. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in having me as your tutor or if you have any further questions. I look forward to working for you and your kids, and am ready to pour every single ounce of my knowledge to help you kids.
