Originally from Baltimore, I moved to Brooklyn in 2010 to attend graduate school. In May 2012, I earned a MA in journalism from NYU. Prior to that, I attended Susquehanna University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in communications. Though my degree is in communications, I took extensive coursework in English, specifically 17th-19th century British literature.
I have experience working with children from infancy through age 14. I have worked as a camp counselor and at a children's science museum. I come from a large family, including two sisters and countless cousins, so I am more than capable of not only getting through to a range of children, but of having some fun in the process.
I currently work as an assistant editor at a business-to-business publishing company in Manhattan. My daily duties include website management, writing, copyediting, utilizing social media, and designing and laying out magazine pages using Quark Xpress 9. I am also well-versed in Photoshop, InDesign, the Microsoft Office suite, and MLA and AP style.
