My name is Nikki, and I hope that I might be an ideal tutoring match for you!
I have dedicated my life to assisting students reach their full academic potential.
My goal is to help each student learn study techniques in various content that he or she can continue to use in the future.
My college studies were based on literature, writing, and the incorporation of these elements in the dramatic arts. I pursued a dual graduate degree in Special Education and Childhood Education. I maintain permanent NY licenses in both categories for Kindergarten through 12th grade.
I spent six years teaching high school English as well as Special Educator in the NYC public school system. Prior, during, and after that time I have maintained a tutoring status to widen the breadth of my experience working with individual students.
My strengths include designing multiple learning strategies in order to tackle material in a calm and nurturing way. I have a great deal of experience working with students who have special learning needs, learning disabilities, and / or social or emotional challenges. I hope to always equip a student with a "tool box" full of helpful study techniques.
