A bit about myself: I am a professor at Rutgers University Newark, a writer, audio engineer and Founder and Editor of nomadic sojourns journal based in Brooklyn. I am currently a Media and Communications doctoral candidate at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland and a personal editor for a number of professors that teach at N.Y.U. and Rutgers University. I obtained my Masters in International Affairs and Anthropology from The New School and completed by BA in Political Science from UC Davis.
I taught English as a Second Language to students in Lesotho, Southern Africa during my two year term as a Secondary Education Peace Corps volunteer as well as to students in Costa Rica. Prior to my term as a volunteer, I tutored children (K-High School) in Monterey, California in topics ranging from basic reading skills to writing essays to Calculus.
Starting in January of 2013, I began teaching as a professor in the Sociology and Anthropology Department at Rutgers University Newark and will be teaching two Sociology courses, one of which is a completely online-based course. I have extensive experience using Skype for business-related calls and would feel completely comfortable tutoring through that medium. I have presented my research at conferences in New York, South Africa, and the U.K.
My tutoring philosophy: work hard, have fun, build long-lasting professional relationships and take great satisfaction in watching learners improve.
Thank you very much and I look forward to the possibility of working with you!
