Not all children learn in the same way. Some children need that little bit “extra” to help them develop the fundamental skills required for school success. I provide academic enrichment in the areas of: Phonemic Awareness and Fluency, Comprehension, Writing, Arithmetic Skills, Algebra, Study Strategies, and Test Prep- ELA/Math Grades 3-8.
My Certifications and Degrees include NY State K-8, MS.Ed Special Education, and a B.S. Human Development and Learning. I have experience teaching and tutoring individuals Pre-K through adulthood.

I have a Wilson Reading System Certification, Masters in Special Education, and B.S. in Human Development and Learning.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a NY State Teaching License K-8 and have experience teaching grades K-8 inclusion.

Phonics

I am a Certified Reading Specialist and have certifications in the Wilson Reading System and other phonics-based curricula. I have a BS in Human Development and Learning, a Master's in Special Education, and experience teaching reading, math, and other academic subjects K-12th.

Study Skills

I am trained and designed curriculum for students with learning disabilities using interventions of Graphic organizers and other study skills for all types of learners.

Special Needs

I have a Masters in Spcial Education and have experience teaching K-12 for students with various types of learning disabilities and autism spectrum.

Martial Arts

3rd degree black belt in shotokan karate. I have experience practice and teaching Shotokan karre for 20 years. I am currently the AAU Karate National champion in Ippon Kunite and an international medalist.

ADD/ADHD

I have a Master's in Special Education and extensive experience working with children K-12th with ADD and ADHD. I have experience working with the school psychologist and IEP team to help families help children receive accommodations.

Aspergers

I have extensive experience working with children with LD and students in the Autism spectrum including Aspergers and have a passion for teaching students how they learn best and ways to help them succeed independently. I currently have a Masters in Special Education and have experience teaching individuals with learning differences from grades K-8 in both math, language arts, and most importantly, study strategies.

Autism

I have extensive experience working with children with LD and students in the autism spectrum including Asperger's and other nonverbal and language-based LD. I currently have a Master's in Special Education and have experience teaching individuals in the autism spectrum from grades K-8 in both math, language arts, and most importantly, study strategies.

Dyslexia

Masters in LD specializing in dyslexia and language-based LD. I am certified in the Wilson Reading System, a scientific researched based language curriculum for students with dyslexia.
