Philosophy should be a joy not a struggle, after all, the Greek word philosophia is literally translated as "love of wisdom". This has been my attitude both in tutoring students in philosophy, as well as in my own research. Over the years I have found that many students struggle because they see philosophy as some sort of distant and arcane practice, but in reality, nothing could be further from the truth. It's my goal to bring this subject back to life in the minds and imaginations of students by presenting the material in practical and easily understood modern language.
I'm currently pursuing a master's in philosophy at The New School for Social Research; my areas of interest include (but are not limited to) Ancient Greek philosophy (especially Aristotle and Epicurus), medieval Jewish philosophy, modern philosophy (with a focus on Spinoza), classical American pragmatism, and logic. I have been tutoring students in philosophy since my undergraduate studies, and wish to continue helping any individual looking to become better acquainted with philosophy.
