In my extensive experience tutoring, I have learned to quickly recognize the sorts of obstacles that students face. I have always been a patient person and a good listener, and I have a good sense of when it is appropriate to step in and actively guide a student, and when it is right to give the student space to work through a problem by him or herself.
As a Math and Philosophy major, I've honed my ability to grasp difficult, abstract concepts and additionally to explain them with lucidity and concision.
Finally, through my experience as a camp counselor, I've learned how to effectively communicate with people younger than myself.
