I studied Latin in high school and at Kenyon College before receiving a Master's in Classical Studies from Indiana University. In graduate school I taught Latin for two years at both the introductory and intermediate levels, writing all lesson plans, tests, and quizzes. I've worked with students of different ages, from a variety of backgrounds, and with varying reasons for taking Latin, from a desire to read a beloved author in the original language to pragmatic credit fulfillment.
I'm familiar with a number of current introductory texts, AP curriculum, and I've taught a course specifically on Virgil's Aeneid. I'm happy to supplement school instruction or conduct independent prepared/sight reading sessions for more advanced students. My interest in the history and literature of Ancient Rome is wide-ranging, but I have a particular fondness for rhetoric and political theory.
