As a high school student I participated in honors/advance placement classes in the course fields of History, Biology and English/Language Arts. I was heavily engaged in organizations relevant to these interests and served as a member of my schools literary magazine and Art Clubs. Following my graduation I attended St John’s University. I first majored in biology with a concentration in medicine, before switching to History with minors in Theology and Biology. My history GPA was 3.41 and my combined minors and course electives equated to 2.96. Currently I’m on the track to pursuing a career in global/public health and hope to serve as a global volunteer in the near future.
As a tutor I understand that students learn in a variety of ways; from those whom work best with hands on methods to the auditory learners and etc. I will do my best to suit your child’s unique needs. I believe that the key to any child success lies in passionate teaching which allows the student to attain knowledge through interaction rather than pure lecturing. I have a true passion for history and the social sciences/humanities. My skills as a teacher lie securely in these fields: However my elementary - middle school level science skills are also exemplary.
