My name is Rebecca V. and I am a practicing artist and teaching instructor. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and and Master of Fine Arts from Parsons, The New School for Design.
I am actively engaged in both creating and showing my artwork. I have taught at various institutions including RISD, Parsons, SVA and the Joan Mitchell Foundation.
My approach to teaching is simple, I believe that art is a tool that every student can learn from. My students range from elementary schooler's to adults. I do not believe that creating art is a born talent and am inspired by my work with students on a daily basis. Whether you decide to pursue art as a career path or as a personal vehicle for growth, I will help you build the personal trust necessary to create. We will also work on practices of "seeing" outside of making.
Sharing my passion propels my personal work forward and I am inspired by working with students and enabling their expression to come to fruition.
