I am a teacher and musician of an eclectic background, and a solid one all the same. It is a vantage from which I have gained and can pass down an understanding of the many distinct and yet interrelated facets of music making and the use of the instrument as our tool of expression.
First, I am a classically trained pianist. I have learned the pedagogical methods that the forefathers of the classical tradition passed on. I have developed an ability to improvise and interact with other musicians, which I observed and learned from my predecessors to be an indispensable skill and creative field.
My interaction from these co-operative fields then branch out. I am a professional Ballet Accompanist, from which I regularly take and further understand the intricate relationship between movement and sound. I have experience as a Choral accompanist, and a Vocal and Instrumental accompanist as well.
These and many more experiences like them have shaped me into a teacher that can see into the many potential difficulties, mentalities and different aptitudes of my students. I can grab onto strengths and isolate and repair insecurities, guiding a student to a gratifying and full-bodied experience of the instrument and music as a whole.
Notably, I can do all of these things in both Spanish and English
