Watching my students grow to love learning as their understanding and ability unfolds is for me the most rewarding aspect of private tutoring. I find that being able to develop a personal connection while providing individual attention makes for the most meaningful—and effective—learning experiences.
My practical experience in education began several years ago while volunteering through Americorps, where I led a team of tutors at P.S. 206/112. Soon after, I moved to Bangkok to teach English. I worked with students of all levels, from kindergarten through high school, both in the classroom and in one-on-one tutoring settings. After returning to New York, I continued tutoring elementary and middle school students in Math and English Language Arts in preparation for their state tests. Currently, I am studying for my MA of Psychology at Hunter CUNY, holding a GPA of 3.95.
English Language Arts and Mathematics are my primary topics of interest with regard to tutoring. I am highly flexible, willing to meet students at whatever skill level they possess, progressing at a pace best suited to their needs.
