Hello,

My name is Dan and I am a Composer by day and a Teacher/Tutor by night. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2010 with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production and currently record and engineer with big clientele such as Sean Lennon (John Lennon's son) and many others. I studied Jazz and Classical Piano for most of my life and am well versed in Guitar and all kinds of theory, ear training, sight singing and composition. I am also extremely knowledgeable in the sciences and history. Ancient history being my personal favorite.

I am very well versed in general education, being a teacher for early childhood and a tutor for elementary, middle, and high school subjects for the past five years. I like to incorporate each subject with my own personal passion and interest. I consider learning to be a privilege and it should be enjoyable and accessible to all. I work hard to cater to each student in a way that makes the learning experience memorable and easy. I am also a certified teacher's assistant for early childhood for the State of New York.

Composition (Music)

I am a freelance composer by trade and studied Contemporary Composition at Berklee College of Music where I received my BA. I currently compose for film and commercial adds.

Ear Training

I have been teaching ear training for roughly five years, starting my tutoring career at Five Towns College where I tutored for all levels of Ear Training, advanced and intermediary. I went on to study more ear training at Berklee College of Music and am capable of teaching beginner to advanced.

General Music

As a Composer myself, I am capable of teaching the in's and out's of music for a wide variety of instruments and styles. From having an intimate knowledge of music at the structural and emotional level, I can inspire even the most mundane of music subjects to an interesting and thought provoking experience. I owe this to my profound music education at Berklee College of Music.

Music History

From the beginning of the Baroque period, through to the Golden Jazz Age and on towards the Contemporary era, I have a wide range of knowledge in the history of western music. From all genres of Classical to the life biographies of 50's Jazz artists and even the Pop-Rock movement, the progression of music from its earliest stages to now has been a huge influence on my own musical and cultural heritage.

Phonics

I have been teaching phonics as a kindergarten teacher for the past year and have learned the in's and out's of what works and doesn't work for children. I am well versed in the Wilsons Fundations program for Kindergarten, as well as others, and I can work with any type of learner.

Piano

I have been playing and performing Piano for roughly 17 years and have extensive training in Classical and Jazz by some of the greatest teachers of our time, located at Berklee College of Music and Five Towns College. Sight Singing

An integral part of my music education, Sight Singing has been one of my favorite aspects of learning modality and note relationships. I have been tutoring Sight Singing for all levels for over 5 years now, starting at Five Towns College, and I enjoy every minute of it, including A-tonality and 12 tonal systems.
