I have tutored and taught students of all ages and love working with students. I have worked with high school, middle school, and elementary-aged students. From math to English, I have helped students achieve their academic and test-taking goals. I was an all-purpose tutor and classroom assistant for the Upward Bound program, CollegeBound. I tutored students in Italy who were studying English while I studied abroad in Milan. I have worked in after school programs as a fourth grade teacher. From math problem sets, lab reports, and ACT tutoring, I have helped students succeed. I make learning accessible and set goals that my students can achieve in order to provide a sense of improvement and accomplishment and boost students' morale. I am kind and hard working and never make my students feel bad or silly for struggling with any academic subject.

I have a degree in English from the University of Puget Sound which makes me a great tutoring candidate for students of all ages struggling with reading and essay-writing. I have a great deal of experience with proofreading, organizing essays, and drafting personal statements. The University of Puget Sound is a liberal arts school which requires all students to enroll in core requirements, so I have studied a range of topics at the college level which make me an ideal all-purpose tutor, as well.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Study Skills

I was successful in developing my own study skills as a student and kept a high GPA. My major GPA in college was a 3.7. I also assisted high school students with their study skills as a Youth Program Assistant. Additionally, I have worked with students in enrichment classes where we employed a variety of creative teaching methods and study skills.
