Chess

I have been playing chess off and on for over 30 years. I've never played in tournaments but I've played many different people on a variety of levels and have often enjoyed intense games over the years.

I love the strategies and competitive nature of the game. It pits the minds of the opponents against one another directly on the board which I find exciting.

DOS

I started working with computers back in the days of DOS 2.1. DOS is an acronym for Disk Operating System. It was a text based system that relied on the use of a DOS prompt that looked like C:\.

I have worked with DOS, even today. Network commands and PC commands that test for both network connectivity and directory searching use DOS. A network command such as Ping tests for a return signal.

Using DOS is very useful, even today.

General Computer

I have worked as a Network Administrator for businesses. I maintained their networks and trained their staff in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Access and Power Point.

I use my computer extensively and find it very helpful in a variety of ways. Let me show you how you can use your computer to help you keep your important information, access the Internet or any other type of entertainment. This training can serve as an introduction to or an intermediate approach to computers.

Guitar

I have been playing guitar for about 10 years. I play many styles of music including blues, rock, folk and rag time. I know what's important to learn right from the start.

Assuming you're new to a guitar and to music, then learning the basics is the most important thing for you to know and enjoy. This is intended to be a beginner's course.

MCSA

MCSA - Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator. I have completed the Microsoft certification (MCSA) for Windows 2000 and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist for Windows Server 2008.

I know Microsofts testing material and methods and can offer support to anyone who is working towards their certification for MCSA.

Microsoft Access

I have used and taught Microsoft software such as Access for many years. I seek to make the learning process easy and usable immediately. My students have been able to start designing and creating access databases with greater ease and satisfaction.

Microsoft Excel

I use Excel extensively and find it very helpful in a variety of ways. Let me show you how you can use this program to help you keep your financial records or any other type of information. This is a basic course. No prior experience is needed although it helps to be familiar with Windows in general.

Microsoft Outlook

I have over 25 years of experience in the computer industry and have been certified by Microsoft for Windows 2000 as an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

I have been working with Outlook since its early days with the 286 and and upgraded through a steady stream of upgrades. Install all software and upgrades.

I run a business called IT Solutions in Brooklyn, NY. I do it all. I've been a Microsoft software user for many years.

Microsoft Windows

I have been working with Windows since its early days. I am a Network Administrator who designs, installs and supports business networks with Microsoft software.

I software installations. I do the IP addressing, and the installation of switches and routers.

Microsoft Word

I have used Microsoft Word frequently over many years. Let me show you how you can use this program to help you keep your correspondence, and multi-faceted projects at your finger tips.

This is meant as an introduction course to this software. No prior experience is needed although it helps to be familiar with Windows in general.

Networking (Computer)

I have over 25 years of experience in the computer industry and have been certified by Microsoft for Windows 2000 as an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

I am a Network Administrator who designs, installs and supports business networks with Microsoft software. I handle the hardware installations as well as the software installations. I do the IP addressing, and the installation of switches and routers.

Proofreading

Proofreading is a very important skill and requires both concentration and diligence. You need to be capable of looking very closely at what you are reading and taking note of every letter, comma, period and all the punctuation, including grammar.

The hardest proofreading material is work you have written yourself. I spent 15 years in the printing industry running pressrooms and confirming that everything looked right, was spelled correctly, especially people's names and never stopped checking because your brain can see something, but your mind may not.

I'll teach you how to zero in on the tricks of the trade of capturing the unusual errors and how to keep from zoning out from starting to stare instead of reading. Proof reading isn't just looking for mistakes. It's confirming that the English is properly used as well.

QuickBooks

I have been working with financial companies that work with Quickbooks. I have over 5 years experience with this software and have trained company staff in its use.

It is a software product that is usable on both PC's and MAC's. It is used for bookkeeping purposes and is highly customizable.
