I am qualified to teach/tutor this subject because I am currently teaching this subject as an adjunct at New York College of Technology (City Tech), CUNY.
I am also a PhD student in the mathematics dept at the Graduate Center, CUNY, interested in analysis, which provides the theoretical underpinning for the calculus methods seen in applied diff. equations courses.
Consequently, I feel very comfortable with this material and I believe that I explain this material effectively to anyone who is having trouble with it.
I tutored for a discrete math course at Hunter College, CUNY. The content was basic set theory (venn diagrams, etc.), combinatorics and concepts from probability such as definition of probability (including frequency perspective), computing probability of compound events, probability trees, conditional probability and Bayes rule, disjoint vs independent events, and basic meaning of expectation and expected value. I feel very comfortable with these concepts and can explain them clearly.
I am currently a math PhD student in NYC. Euclidean geometry - that is geometry of lines, angles, polygons and circles - has been one of my favorite areas of math since I was young. I like this subject as it is an area where a student can already see the beauty and intricacy of mathematics.
I am a PhD student in math and have taken linear algebra courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I also tutored linear algebra at Hunter College.
