I am currently in my final year studying accounting at Brooklyn College. I work with an after school organization, BENI (Brooklyn Empowerment Neighborhood Initiative), where I basically tutor young men but in a larger group as well as engage in athletic activities with them. I love helping others. I actually feel a great joy when I get someone to understand something in which they had trouble before. Also I have had success tutoring fellow classmates, underclassmen, to exceptional understanding of accounting material. I have also tutored with high school students in various mathematical subjects. I have been able to lead them to a solid understanding of the material by overall, being patient. I have a special ability to break down material and explain things in numerous ways that I feel I can get anyone to understand. I know that everyone has a different learning style and pace and I am willing to work with that. I have also learned how to manage emotions and nervousness where test taking in concerned. Athletically, I have played collegiate basketball for 4 years, been a part of 2 conference championship teams, and was elected captain in my senior year. I also grew up close to the game of baseball/softball and played recreationally for years.
