My strength as a tutor comes from my integration of a holistic education philosophy into all subject areas. By engendering in students a curiosity about their studies, they hopefully learn how better to attack their schoolwork through intuition and critical analysis, not just rote memorization. This comes from my significant experience in education. Since graduating from Louisiana State University in 2002, where I earned 2 B.A. degrees, one in English with a minor in Theatre, and another in History, I have been involved in education. I worked for two years as a full time classroom teacher in South Florida before moving to New York City to work more actively as a writer and theatre director. While producing my original theatre, I have continued to work as a tutor, both on my own and through companies, as well as through various after-school capacities. I have also integrated my education experience into my theatre endeavors, including producing several years of community programming for south Williamsburg families through Brooklyn Arts Council funding, and using high school students in some of my original work. Overall, I have worked with students from grades 2 through 12.
