I am a recent graduate of the New School's MFA program. While at the New School, I was a TA for two classes that focused on developing College level essay writing skills. In many cases, this involved coaching and mentoring students for whom English was a second language. After graduating, I worked as an Adjunct Professor of English at ASA College in Brooklyn, where I taught two levels of English Composition, as well as a remedial English class. There, too, I gained valuable experience working in the Writing Center, helping students with their papers on a one on one bases. As such, I am qualified to instruct High School students preparing for College level writing, as well as College students and adults interested in developing their skills as writers. In addition, the MFA (as well as my undergraduate background) has prepared me to be able to work with students on critical thinking and reading interpretation. I have also worked as a proof-reader and copy-editor, so I have a refined sense of grammar and style. My own criticism and creative writing has appeared in several publications. With a BA in Comparative Literature and German, I also have experience tutoring students who were learning that language.
