My name is David, I graduated from The Ohio State University in March of 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, minor in Sociology. I am a professional youth advocate and substitute teacher with experience working in various school districts, after school tutoring programs, as well as, community and church organizations. I am seeking employment in the field of education, permitting further development in the skills of teaching, leadership, organization, diversity, and service to youth.
My course work in psychology and sociology included work in childhood and adolescent psychology, criminology, social and abnormal psychology, public speaking, contemporary world problems, social theory, and the study of American ethnic relations.
I have participated in the O.S.U. Buck-I-Masters swim club, several religious groups, The Franklin County Children Service Mentoring Program, The Ohio State’s Wellness Student Organization, and served as an HIV and AIDS outreach volunteer with The Tobias Project. Most recently, the Columbus Aids Task Force, the US Masters Swim Club, Smyrna Baptist Church Youth Department, Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC) study group, Hopewell Baptist Church Youth Ministries, and several labor and peace organizations.
I hope that you will find that some of my related course work and previous work experience meet the qualifications that you and your student are seeking in a tutor. I would welcome an opportunity to speak with you about ways I can contribute to your child's learning.
Sincerely,
David
