Specialist in SAT, LSAT, Spanish Language, TEFL and Gen Ed Tutoring

Since graduating from Indiana University in 2007 with a BA in English and Spanish, I have worked for the past five years as a teacher and tutor. I am TEFL certified, and have years of experience as a language instructor working in Taipei, Taiwan and Buenos Aires, Argentina. While abroad, I taught all ages and abilities, in both large group and one-on-one settings. Additionally, I taught literature and composition at the University of California - Santa Barbara, where I earned a MA in English in 2010. For the past year, I have been working as a high school English and Spanish teacher, LSAT tutor, and middle school Math and Reading tutor.

Having scored in the 96th percentile on the SAT, in the 94th percentile on the GRE, and in the 98th percentile on the LSAT, I specialize in test-preparation. However, I am also experienced in general education - particularly in Reading, Writing, Spanish, and English as a foreign language.

My approach to tutoring begins with a "diagnostic" session, at no cost to the student. In this preliminary meeting I can discuss target goals with the student, areas of weakness to prioritize, and the style of tutoring to which the student is best suited. ISEE

Working for a company called BrightKids NYC, I have the taught the ISEE to dozens of fifth grade students, and several older students for the middle-level ISEE as well.

I have worked with several students on the Regents exam. I have worked with two fifth-grade students on the English Language Arts Regents, and with one seventh-grader. I have also worked with a seventh-grade student on the ELA exam. I have worked with a high-school senior on the Spanish Regents, and with a high-school freshman on the Integrated algebra exam.
