Whether you are reluctant in algebra or excited about chemistry, I will find the hooks to help you connect the topics. I finished college with a double major in physics and biology and then became a high school physics and environmental science teacher. After four years teaching, I returned to grad school to pursue a degree in geography and now work as an environmental consultant. In college I balanced academics with fun by rowing crew, working as EMT, teaching skiing, and working in the stadium. Sharing my time between academics, team athletics and customer service, helped me evolve from my academic focus in high school roots to become a successful student then teacher.
In my freshman year at Syracuse, I worked for a national SAT prep company, and stayed with them for 8 years before breaking out on my own. During those years I worked with hundreds of students in Massachusetts and New York and received consistently exceptional reviews. I still teach SAT and my students make significant gains, but particularly enjoy supporting sciences, math and helping improve general studies. The opportunity to work with students over months and years has been rewarding as I learn the city and see students succeed.
I'm mostly available in the evenings and on weekends. I travel for work about a week a month - but I'm flexible with my schedule to minimize disruption.
