If you are looking for an outstanding tutor, then look no further. I am an intelligent, dynamic and funny fellow that possesses a penchant for teaching students of all ages and ability levels. I graduated from Princeton University in 2005 with my bachelor's degree in structural engineering and then from Stanford University in 2007 with my master's degree in the same discipline. The emphasis of my course work was in engineering, so I have a very strong background in upper level physics and mathematics. However, don't let my engineering focus fool you into thinking that I am strictly a math and science guy. My education required that I engage deeply in many other subjects and I pride myself on being an eloquent and well-balanced intellectual.
Of course, the ability to learn and the ability to teach are two separate skill sets; luckily I have the latter as well as the former. I have extensive experience tutoring for 3 different tutoring companies in which I taught calculus, trigonometry, geometry, algebra, physics, and chemistry. Additionally, I have tutored dozens of students in the ACT, SAT, and SAT subject tests. I have had very good success with all my clients across all subjects because I customize my lessons to the distinct needs of each individual. I am adept at breaking complex concepts down into simpler and more manageable parts and I excel at making the lesson material understandable. Beyond that, I often rely on my experience as a swim coach and former athlete to build a good rapport with my students, and I strive to be as much a mentor as I am a tutor. I also work particularly well with teenagers, who offer a challenge unique to young adults on the brink of intellectual maturity.
If you are interested in my services, do not hesitate to contact me. After we discuss your specific needs, I can quickly develop a customized lesson plan and can begin working with you immediately. I eagerly await the opportunity to work with you and help you perform at the peak of your abilities.
