For the past five years, I have worked full-time teaching English, math and history at a school for students with language-based learning disabilities. I have extensive experience helping students with severe deficits in writing, decoding, fluency, number sense, computation skills, and executive functioning improves their skills. Whatever skill area I am working with the student, my main goal for my students is independence. When students independently identify problems, develop strategies, and use those strategies, they take ownership of their learning, leading to further skill gains.
Although I specialize in helping students with learning disabilities, I am interesting helping students without learning disabilities reach their goals as well. Lastly, I am also available to teach basketball skills. I've currently coach a middle boys' basketball team and have worked at basketball camps at UC-Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, and U. of San Diego.
