My name is Mary, and I may be the perfect tutor for you!
I am an engineering graduate from Cornell University with a Masters in Math Education. I have been a math teacher for the past six years, teaching a wide range of courses from basic math to more advanced levels. I developed the curricula for and taught college level courses, including Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics, AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics. In addition, I have experience teaching algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and SAT math prep. In my math SAT prep course, students demonstrated an increase on average of 200 points on their SAT math section.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I applied my engineering education to work primarily in operations and manufacturing, including time at two Fortune 500 Companies. My prior work experience is a great benefit to me as a tutor. It allows me to bring practical and relevant examples to the material I teach. I am able to show my students how the math they are learning today can be used in professional settings.
