I have taught world, European and American history to college and high school students, especially those preparing to take exams that will take them to the next level of their education. I enjoy teaching in classroom settings, but I believe that my style of teaching benefits small groups and individual students.
My teaching focuses on the development of critical thinking skills. That means that I work with students on the skills of identifying information and analyzing it in different contexts. The objective is for students to be able to answer questions effectively - and to ask the most insightful questions about the subject at hand.
Tutoring sessions are based on the interest, skills and objectives of the student. Once I know that those are, I am able to create assignments and frame learning conversations that enable the student to maximize his or her academic performance.
