Versatile Math and Science Tutor of many levels

I studied for five years at Fordham University as an undergraduate, obtaining a BS in physics, a BA in biology, and a minor in chemistry. I have a very strong understanding of math and science, and I am able to communicate it well to others. I specialize in AP physics, AP bio, and MCAT prep.

As someone who has recently been in the same situation as students- approaching advanced subjects like calculus or physics for the first time and struggling to grasp their concepts- I know which topics are more troublesome than others. I believe that I am able to bestow the confidence to students that no subject or topic is impossible to master or at least thoroughly understand. With a careful step-wise and problem-solving approach, which I can teach students, all things can be made manageable.

I'm a patient, relaxed person. I've been tutoring regularly (4-5 times a week) for 5 months now. I hope to eventually go to medical school- I'm applying in the spring of 2013.

MCAT

I received a 33Q on my mcat. My score breakdown was the following: verbal reasoning - 10, physical sciences- 11, biological sciences- 12. I am capable of tutoring students who are preparing for the mcat.

Genetics

I have taken a college level genetics course (lecture and lab). I covered mendelian genetics, molecular genetics, pedigree analysis, fundamentals of replication and transciption, DNA mutations and repair mechanisms, genomics, and transposable elements. I believe I am well certified to tutor in it. I have also taken a course in molecular biology, which is essentially an advanced genetics course (but with no lab).

Organic Chemistry

I have taken organic chemistry 1 and 2 with lab. I received solid A's in all classes. In addition, I have taken biochemistry 1 and 2, obtaining a minor in chemistry.
