Hello, my name is Michelle. My level of education is NYS Certified ESL in Education for Adult. I am an employee in the NYC Public School as a Certified Substitute Teacher. I have taught the Early Intervention as well as Pre-K and Early Childhood Education for the Department of Education as a Teacher. When I am working with a scholar I model the work for the student and to make sure he/she understands the work I ask him/her to repeat the work back to me. I also instruct the student in low functioning setting to recall through a picture walk while verbally expressing what it is. I work extremely hard to have the children on grade level by the time school year end with instructional materials.

Special Needs

When I am working with children who have Special Needs, I take more time to complete a lesson. I work with children with autism on a daily basis and have done so for many years. I have helped those on all ends of the spectrum form relationships with adults and peers, and taught them math, reading, handwriting, problem solving, etc.

ESL/ESOL

When I am working with children who are English language learners, I take more time to complete a lesson. Completing a lesson doesn't mean anything if my children do not understand what has to be done.
