"Tremendous wealth of knowledge; Terrific person to deal with; Very professsional; Exceptional service"
Maureen from Garden City, NY on 7/14/11
I have nothing but positive things to say about 'Professor BAM'. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about so many different subjects, but he was a pleasure to deal with and always very accommodating. My daughter was tutored in Trigonometry and the amount of patience and clarity that Professor BAM taught with was unmatched. (I wish I would have found him when my daughter was having trouble in Algebra.) Thank you for your excellent service.
"Good communication and able to reach readily by phone"
Lorraine from Smithtown, NY on 6/16/14
My son is making progress, albeit slow. Professor BAM is patient and welcomes input from the student and parent when needed. He is working on concepts covered on the AP computer science exam with the overall goal to maximize his score.
Subject: AP Computer Science:
We have Bruce Martin to thank for not only helping our son understand coding (Java programming), but more importantly helping to bring back his passion for computer science lost by the rote memorization and top-heavy AP practice-exam testing required in preparation for the AP exam. Our son's self-confidence was in sharp decline due to recent plummeting grades. Professor BAM really cut to the quick with real time solutions.
BAM is well versed in many disciplines, but herein my assessment is primarily computer-science-based. In that regard, he was able to connect with our son in a positive way. His hands-on experience in the real world outside of academia is a breath of fresh air and so important for a different approach when there is a breakdown in mainstream practices in the classroom. Bruce gets our highest recommendation. There is no doubt Professor BAM had a positive impact on our son's grade and his overall view of programming.
Subject: Introduction to Calculus:
Professor BAM easily made the transition from AP Computer Science to Intro to Calc based on his multi-discipline expertise, as well as the rapport developed with our son, who is a high schoolsenior set to go off to college this fall. I believe Bruce has the ability to assess the problem quickly and target an effective plan. I am very pleased with his approach and would not hesitate to utilize the good professor if the need arises in the future, during our son's undergraduate years. Thank you, Bruce!

I met with Bruce for UNIX and I have to say, the lesson was very informative! If you are taking a class in UNIX I highly recommend Bruce as he will present a lot of these concepts in a very comprehensive way.

Great! Very educated. I have used few editors previously, and firmly conclude that he is, by far, the best editor I have used. I have used him for several different topics, and was pleased with his broad knowledge, varying from general topics, science, and philosophy. I strongly recommend him.
"Great SAT tutor but you must be flexible with scheduling."
Lisa from Patchogue, NY on 11/21/13
Bruce did an excellent job teaching my son how to take the SAT in a more successful manner. His score improved by over 300 points because of what he learned from Prof. Bam. I highly recommend him as an SAT tutor, my only concern was the constant schedule changes.
"Great Tutor "

Jillian from Nesconset, NY on 10/20/13
Professor Bam is an extremely helpful tutor. Not only is he helpful but he is very encouraging. I was very unconfident when I first started studying for the GRE and I did not know what to do. Just going to him a few times has made me feel much better and more confident in my score.
Yamilee from Elmont, NY on 10/16/13
"Don't ever count yourself out!" was one of the first things Professor told me and I never forgot it. I just started with him, but I already have a plethora of information to tackle the GRE. One of the best investments in my future.

My daughter's second session went very well and she has said that some of tips and tricks have already helped her.
"Received Excellent Help!"
Sandy from Ronkonkoma, NY on 8/8/13
I had a very positive experience with Bruce. Not only was he able to help me in a timely manner, but he helped me with some difficult concepts. Through his tutoring, he helped me raise my grade in my Economics class and now I am sure to get a better grade in the overall course than if I had tried to "go it alone."
Paul from Sea Cliff, NY on 4/25/13
Bruce has been tutoring my 15 year old son for a few months now. My son is very happy with the lessons and he has been learning a lot. "Professor Bam" is very patient and knowledgeable. We highly recommend him!

Jill from Southampton, NY on 3/27/13
My son has met three times in the past month with Bruce for help in preparing for the ACT test. Bruce spent a lot of time explaining the strategies for taking a standardized test and then went into the specific areas that my son needs help in. So far my son feels he has gotten great help and tips from Bruce. As well, we all have enjoyed Bruce's genuine personality and humor. We look forward to more sessions with Bruce to help with my son's ACT preparation.
Mindy from Flushing, NY on 3/26/13
Professor Bam is an extremely patient and kind tutor who definitely knows how to teach the application of test taking strategies. We can't wait to see the improvement of our daughter's SAT scores! Thank you for all your attentive work.
"Extremely competent and knowledgeable."

Professor B.A.M. is a phenomenal tutor. He has a proficient ability to explain difficult topics in a rudimentary and basic fashion if need be. This enabled me to absorb and understand my complex course material and obtain that "Aha" moment. He has helped me with my computer science course immensely. Without his guidance I don't know where I would be in the class. I was on the verge of dropping the course before I came across professor B.A.M. I plan to continue to retain his services for his invaluable guidance. If there is a better tutor out there, he or she would be hard to find!!
Jillian from Lindenhurst, NY on 10/10/12
Bruce has been very helpful teaching me math skills for the GRE. He knows and understands the test through and through and has been very patient in helping me figure out strategies for perplexing problems. He has also been very accommodating with my busy and frustrating schedule. His positive attitude helps me get through difficult test questions in a calm fashion.
Kevin from Mastic Beach, NY on 9/25/12
Prof BAM is a great tutor, very patient. He takes the time to ensure that you are understanding the concepts of what you are learning. He is able to take a complex subject and break it down to layman's terms for you. I give him Excellent!

Very helpful and knowledgeable! Helped me to get a 92 on my final exam in chem! I would recommend prof BAM to everyone.
Mary from Port Jefferson, NY on 3/12/12
I have to say, Prof. Bam is wonderful. My son loved him! He strengthened his weaknesses and made him think "out of the box". His test scores were amazing. I believe the way Prof. Bam teaches makes it fun, interesting and engaging! My son couldn't wait to sit down with him and do some work! The downfall, if you are one for punctuality, this tutor is not for you. However, we are very flexible, so the 15-30 minutes of him being late, didn't bother us at all.
Bruce Alan replied on 5/11/2013:
When I travel to meet with students, the appointment times are always approximate and subject to traffic and other delays. However, I will always telephone the student (or parent) if I will be more than 10-15 minutes late.
"Very student friendly!"
Alex from Port Jefferson, NY on 3/8/12
Professor B.A.M was probably one of the best tutors I have ever had. He made learning the material interesting, and brought with him a rare enthusiasm for the subject matter. I would recommend him to beginners and experts in the subject alike.

Amalia from East Setauket, NY on 2/29/12
Professor BAM has been a wonderful asset to my son with assistance through AP Physics. He is friendly, knowledgeable and excellent at communicating concepts. he is also very flexible both with scheduling and material covered which is so helpful with my son's busy schedule and overwhelming work load.
"Professor BAM is the best"
Patricia from Copiague, NY on 1/9/12
At the first meeting Professor BAM and student got acquainted with each other and it went very well. He was aware that the student is visually impaired and he accepted the challenge to tutor AP Physics. He covered all the students’ questions. In addition to tutoring the student, the Professor went above and beyond his tutoring. In the next session, he was additionally well prepared for this session. He provided special tactile visual materials that he created himself to help the student “visualize” the concepts to be covered. He did this on his own and it was extremely helpful. The following sessions, Professor BAM went over the school lessons and covered test results to reinforce the students’ understanding. He continues to provide school lesson reviews, reviewing test results and introducing additional concepts to help with the learning process and future tests. We are very satisfied with the sessions and the techniques and approach Professor BAM uses to teach, he definitely is the best.
Latia from Islip, NY on 7/15/11
Professor Bruce Alan M was a great tutor. Very thorough with his work. Easy to reach and very flexible with scheduling. Because of his help I receieved an A in Statistics. :-)!!!!
Brian from East Meadow, NY on 5/30/10
Prof. BAM is a wonderful teacher. He is incredibly patient and has a great deal of knowledge in many subject areas. He has been working with my son in chemistry, math and SAT prep. I am only sorry that we did not find him earlier! My son is not an eager student, nor an easy kid to tutor. We have been through many tutors who have not been able to reach him. Prof. BAM has been terrific with my son, explaining complex ideas in ways that are easy to understand. We highly recommend him!
"Prof. BAM is a really great tutor"
Sue from Greenlawn, NY on 5/27/10
Professor BAM tutored my son for about four months, prepping him for the dreaded SAT. This exam is not really a test of knowledge. It's not necessarily what you know, but how to take the test that will get you the best results. Prof. BAM knows the strategies needed to improve student test scores. My son's SATs went from an 1150 to a 1370 in just a very short time. Here are a few comments from my son:
- He has a great personality
- He's very easy to understand
- He's very knowledgeable about the subjects
- He has a very flexible schedule
I would highly recommend Prof. BAM. The proof of his work is in the final SAT score. We were very happy with Prof. BAM and the results of his work.
Bruce Alan replied on 7/28/2013:
The student's two-section SAT score total went up from 1150 to 1370 (Math and Reading sections only, out of a maximum of 1600); he also scored well on the Writing section, and was accepted into the college of his choice.
"ASVAB - REVIEW"
Steven from Commack, NY on 3/7/10
Bruce has a thorough knowledge of the curriculum and a technique that grasps the attention of my son. My son almost doubled his score after being tutored by Bruce and will once again re-take the exam on order to further improve. Right after I complete this response I will also schedule Professor BAM for several sessions prior to the next exam.
"Review for Professor BAM"
Bethany from Levittown, NY on 9/13/09
Professor Bruce was very patient. He had many different MCAT books which he let me borrow and use to study. He was very encouraging and if I had any question at all about the physics or verbal section he was able to answer it. He would stay with me as long as I needed. He is a very smart and optimistic person and I would recommend him to any of my friends.
Wendy from Oyster Bay, NY on 8/29/09
"Professor BAM" was very patient with my son, and was able to teach him material that he found very difficult to learn in a traditional classroom. There was constant communication amongst the student, the parent, and the tutor which was a recipe for success. I highly recommend Bruce.
