I have been tutoring college students for the past couple years. I specialize in Accounting and Finance along with computer subjects. I am very patient - just read my reviews - and have been able to help students bring their grades up significantly. I "discovered" tutoring during my studies for a master's degree. I love helping others understand Accounting and Corporate Finance. I can think of nothing as satisfying as seeing a student "get it" or have the elusive "Ah-ha" moment they have been struggling to find.

I have 28 years of professional experience in accounting, information technology and leadership. As a Servant Leader who is focused on helping others, I am caring and patient. I can take complex accounting and technology topics and simplify them for the non-technical learner.

Trained by the US military to teach and mentor, I have led many over my long career. As a NYS Certified Public Accountant, I have served individuals, corporations and groups. I have been a "Big 4" Public Accountant, Corporate Controller, Project Manager, Network Administrator, Military Commander, Auditor and Computer Security Team Chief.

With several years of education and experience in computer security, I have been successful explaining complex, technical data to leaders, subordinates and peers. I use these skills to make complex accounting and finance concepts easy to understand for my tutoring students.

I've held US Security Clearances from Secret to Top Secret and have a high regard for confidentiality.

I will not suggest that I am a tutor of a hundred subjects. I can help with a few, but, I assure you, I will be effective in those few.

Lately, my focus has been on business subjects like accounting, finance and consumer math.

Limiting my travel to Buffalo, Rochester, Batavia and anywhere in between, I am willing to help anyone who has the sincere desire to learn.

I have over 15 years of experience working with networks, desktops, laptops, servers and related devices. I have extensive experience helping users understand complex computer concepts in simple terms. I have spent a considerable portion of my career woring with computer users at various levels in order to help them perform their jobs more efficiently and effectively.

Microsoft Word

I have over 15 years' experience as an IT Manager to include supporting over 800 users with desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office programs and Windows. I have been certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional and enjoy working with people who need help with computers. I have provided desktop support to users in the installation, use and support of Microsoft Word. I use it daily and have developed complex documents and reports with Word.

Microsoft PowerPoint

I have several years of experience creating training presentations for the Army and assisting users with the design and execution of PowerPoint presentations. I have embedded movies, sound, spreadsheets and other media into presentations. My experience working with PowerPoint users extends over 20 years.

Prealgebra

I guess that Algebra has always been one of those fun subjects to me.

That being said, I'm not one of those nerdy geek types. LOL

I have four kids and they all passed their Algebra tests.

Accounting

As a NYS Certified Public Accountant and having experience as a Corporate Controller for several manufacturers, I have the ability to teach complex accounting concepts to all levels of student.

Economics

I am a CPA (25 yrs) with several years of Corporate Controller experience. I completed my Master's degree in 2012 with a 3.9 GPA. I am proficient with economic concepts and have successfully provided instruction to students on microeconomics and macroeconomics. I have helped students relate these concepts to real business situations based on my extensive corporate experience.

Finance

I am a CPA (25 yrs) with several years of Corporate Controller experience. I completed my Master's degree in 2012 with a 3.9 GPA. As Corporate controller, I gained a deeper understanding of how corporate accounting handles the topics we learned in college. While some topics may never be used, I am able to help students understand, in common terms, what corporate financial management concepts are and how they are used.

Business

I am a Military Officer and Corporate Manager. I am well versed in business operations including manufacturing, construction and technology. I have a Boy Scouts of America merit badge counselor for Personal Management.

QuickBooks

I am a CPA with over 25 years of experience with a variety of accounting software programs. This has included QuickBooks. I have been successful in explaining how the basic functions of QuickBooks are used to perform required accounting tasks. Over the years, the software interface has changed but the functionality and intended purpose remains the same. I am confident that I can help students understand how to use QuickBooks to accomplish accounting requirements.

Computer Science

I am an experienced Director of Information Technology. I work with PC configuration, software installation, and IT project management. I have a Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge Counselor for Computer Merit Badge.

Microsoft Outlook

As a Microsoft Exchange Administrator, I configured Microsoft Outlook for over 800 users both remotely and in-person. I am proficient with Outlook Data files to include personal folders. I have assisted users setting up new profiles, troubleshooting problems with existing profiles and creating new mailbox accounts.

Microsoft Windows

I have over 15 years experience as an IT Manager to include supporting over 800 users with descktop operating systems, Microsoft Office programs and Windows. I have been certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional and enjoy working with people who need help with computers.

Tax Preparation

I've been doing personal tax returns since the TRA of 86 was enacted.
