I am an experienced educator in multiple fields. My purpose is to create a student-centered working relationship that builds on previous lessons, enables students to think critically and creatively, and develop their skills all-around. I want students to be as excited about learning as I am, and will give them all the energy they give me. Learning is an ongoing process, for both the student and the teacher, and I aim to impart that to students so they are able to handle any task given to them. My focus is on performing arts education, both fine tuning arts skills and how they can help students in other subject areas. Lesson plans will usually include elements of arts lessons in order to further students knowledge and examine subjects from as many angles as possible to better knowledge and learning. I will work with students on all plans so the process is built from their knowledge and experience as well as my own.
I have a BM in Music Education from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where I focused on using multiple learning methods to teach music. I have an MA in Educational Theater/Integrated Arts from New York University where I focused on teaching theater, using theater techniques to teach other subject areas, and using a combined arts curriculum for arts classes, general subject areas, and building community/student confidence. I am Certified in Music and Theater in NJ, which is currently expired (can be renewed easily.) I am eligible for Certification in both NY and PA. I have roughly 4 years of professional experience teaching and tutoring.
