Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Composition (Music)

Composition is my primary musical activity and one which I received the most training in over the years. I compose music regularly for my own groups and have had works commissioned by several ensembles.

I am knowledgeable in all areas of "classical" composition technique in multiple periods (Baroque, Romantic, Twentieth Century, etc.) as well as many jazz idioms (bebop, modal, modern, free jazz, etc.).

Guitar

I have been playing the guitar for over 15 years. I hold a MM in Music Composition (Jazz Studies) from New York University and have been teaching privately in New York City, New Jersey, and Philadelphia since 2004. I cater all my lessons to individual students needs and can teach students of any level beginner to advanced.
