Hello! A little background about myself: I am currently attending NYU, I am on the pre-med track, and I am majoring in biology and minoring in psychology. My specialty however, is mathematics. I find this subject very exciting and important to learn since everything we do revolves around mathematics. In high school, I have taken many classes such as Math A, Math AB, Math B, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus and I have done greatly on them as well as found them enjoyable to teach to students. Because I love this subject, I try to inspire others to do the same; I do this by describing them a little bit about its history, and how it has come to be so important in society. In ancient Greek, mathematics means "knowledge," "what one learns," hence it is the abstract study of quantity, space, structure, and other properties of science. Math is used throughout the world as an essential tool in many fields such as medicine, social sciences, engineering, etc. Through this powerful subject, anyone can simply uncover the truth about everything we have come to be familiar with. However, there is one exception; in order to grasp this power and gain knowledge of the truth, one must be committed to search beyond the boundaries of this world.
As a tutor, I am committed to help my students with any need they require. It is my purpose to enforce what they have learned in school and provide additional knowledge about the subject in order for my students to be fully prepared for what might come (quizzes, assignments, tests, additional homework). It is my ideology that my student should have the knowledge of learning how to tackle a problem set in different perspectives, in other words there is no one way of answering a problem! Thus, by introducing them to new ways of thinking how to solve a set of problems, they will be capable of decoding problems more rapidly and accurately when facing exams, homework, and other materials.
Let me know what time and days you would like to be tutored. At the moment, I am mostly available on the weekend, but if this is not possible I could try make some space during the week.
Sincerely,
Nicolas
