My goal in life is to teach mathematics with simplicity and understanding. I am committed to making a mark that cannot be erased, locally and globally. That is why I left my tenured teaching position in Atlanta, GA to pursue my doctorate in mathematics education at Teachers College, Columbia University. There are too many people today that state, "I hated math when I was in school." Math is not about memorizing rules and procedures, its actual logic built into our everyday lives... from the arch of a bridge to the coordinates of the street to the mass transit system... without mathematics none of the above would be possible.
In addition to teaching the rule and procedure of any given concept, I provide the student with a deeper understanding by showing the "how and why" of the rule and procedure. As a tutor, I am patient with my students and I challenge them to the best of their ability.
My current availability is flexible. I look forward to helping you or your child learn mathematics.
