I am a licensed professional instructor at the College and Corporate Level. I have been teaching AutoCAD since 1991 and am proud to say that over 90% of my former students are now working doing Computer Aided Drafting. Occasionally I will run into a former student who will tell me that I was instrumental in their professional success. Hearing that always puts a smile on my face.
In 2007, I started teaching and supporting Revit for an Autodesk reseller. I found the program to be so intuitive that I was hooked forever. To be able to change something in one view and have that change propagate to all of the views (2D & 3D), schedules, etc, totally amazes me.
I truly believe that Revit is going to revolutionize the way that Architects and Engineers model and document their designs. Already, I have seen Bid Documents require that all drawings for a project be done in Revit Architecture, Revit Structure or Revit MEP.
This summer, I am scheduled to start teaching Revit at the New York Institute of Architecture in their evening program. I can't wait to spread the word.
I began teaching AutoCAD in 1991 at a 2 year college where since then I have taught 18 different versions starting with release 10 for DOS and every release since then up to and including the latest which is release 2015 for Windows. I am certified and also teach AutoCAD MEP which is used primarily by Engineers. It is also a 2D/3D modeler that is used in the field by Engineers that specialize in Building Systems such as heating & air conditioning, electrical systems and plumbing.
Prior to teaching AutoCAD, I am required by Autodesk and my Employer to pass a test, which I have for every release of AutoCAD.
In 2007, I went to work for Eberhard Systems, an Autodesk reseller who, knowing my background, was willing to invest in sending me to different Autodesk facilities in places such as New Jersey, Rhode Island and Las Vegas to have me get trained in Revit. With all of the concentrated class work by Autodesk's finest under my belt, I took the exam that same year and every year since and got certified in Revit and the yearly updates.
Much like AutoCAD, Revit is available in three (3) different specialized versions, and I am certified at the Instructor level in all of them.
Prior to teaching and supporting all three (3) versions of Revit, I am required to pass a test, which I have for every release.
Great tutor, sometimes has too much on his dish. — Very, very thorough. At times when reviewing he must be reminded that it's a review. I have no complaints with his being so thorough since he will focus on the question in hand immediately and provide a solution. His knowledge of autocad and how to use it is extraordinary. ...
