My name is Katy S., and I am a graduate of Oberlin and Princeton. I have an undergraduate degree in English and History and a Masters in Divinity and a Masters in Christian Education. I have taught and tutored all my life, mostly reading skills as well as Coordinating Sunday School, Staff and Teaching children of all ages. Not only did I earn a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Divinity from Princeton, but I also am currently editing my mother's dissertation. I am an avid reader and have tutored many colleagues in writing.

I hold a bachelors degree in English as well as a Masters in Divinity (which is a writing based degree) from Princeton. I have worked in bilingual environments (I worked for 4 years at a Korean American Church) and love to tutor. I have tutored reading and writing skills forever, and am currently proofreading my mother's dissertation.

Phonics

As you can see I have extensive language arts skills. I was an English major at Oberlin college, have passed the English, ESL, grammar, literature, proofreading, reading, vocabulary & writing qualifications for WyzAnt's subjects and I also spent 4 years as an America Reads tutor during college.

Study Skills

Study Skills include careful attention to the details of the assignment, practice, rewriting, flash cards, word association and memorization in order to better understand a subject. During my Bachelor's at Oberlin and my Masters at Princeton, I have found that repetition and interest are the best ways to engage with a topic successfully.

Religion

In addition to holding a Master's in Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary, I also took a religion class at Oberlin that outlined the 5 major faiths (Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam and Buddhism) comparing and contrasting their sacred texts, their view of life and afterlife and their values.

Bible Studies

I have a Master's in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. I have extensive knowledge of the Old and New Testament and am able to read Biblical Greek as well as Biblical Hebrew.

Public Speaking

I took speech 1 and II at seminary as well as a professional preaching task. The subject includes preparation, clear and enunciated speech, absence of distracting habits and speaking from the diaphragm.

Social Studies

In addition to passing the European History, US History and Geography qualifications for WyzAnt, I also hold a bachelor's degree in History from Oberlin College.
