ACT Math

I try to relate math to everyday life, and the types of questions on the ACT are no different. When I teach you a subject matter, it is with understanding, not just going through a math process.

Algebra 1

I have taught Algebra I at the middle and high school levels and have tutored students at the college level.

Algebra 2

I have taught Algebra 2 in high school for 2 years. It is important to be able to know pre-algebra, algebra I and geometry to be successful in Algebra 2. If there is a lack of information, no worries, we can fill the gaps as we go along.

Elementary Math

The basics of math are very important to have, without it the higher forms of math are tougher to master. I have taken my daughter's knowledge of math from elementary math to pre-algebra in her first year of middle school (6th grade). Even my son who is in third grade now, understands positive and negative integers and when to add and subtract them.

Geometry

I have taught high school geometry for 2 years at the high school level in Clark county.

Praxis

I am certified to teach the Praxis I math test. I passed it with a 187 out of 190 score.

Prealgebra

I have taught middle school pre-algebra and know how to get the student to understand why they are doing a certain process.

SAT Math

I try to relate math to everyday life, and the types of questions on the SAT are no different. When I teach you a subject matter, it is with understanding, not just going through a math process.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
