I struggled with math as an undergrad. I loved it, but I struggled with it. After two semesters, I was approached to be a tutor in a new program. A little shocked that this professor wanted me, I agreed. Within weeks I understood why she'd chosen me to tutor her lower level math classes: I understood why and how people were struggling. I knew what they were going through first-hand, and I was able to give them the tools I'd developed to help myself succeed. I was compassionate, but driven, and I still am. You may not be gifted in math, but you don't have to fail.
I'm a writer through and through. I love words, grammar, semantics, you name it! I write a blog, I edit others' papers, and I seek out articles to read in addition to those required by classes. I believe anyone can write, and I think most people want to be more efficacious in their writing style.
