I have been a high school English, ESL and Spanish teacher for seventeen years. I spent most of my time in California, then taught in Uganda, East Africa for three years, two in New Mexico and now I return to my home as of July 15, 2014. I hold a master's degree in English literature, a TESOL, a BA in International Relations with a minor in Spanish, and a teaching credential for both New Mexico and California.
I am known for being relaxed with students and have a fun rapport, yet I push them to be their best at the same time.
In regards to Spanish, I am not totally fluent and do not feel comfortable tutoring at the higher level. I have taught first year Spanish and that's where I'm most comfortable helping.
I live in downtown Santa Barbara and am willing to commute within 10 miles. If there is a longer commute, raise the hourly rate by $10 to cover gas/time on the road.
