My name is Joseph P. and I am a Sophomore studying at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT but I am from New Jersey. My major is Biomedical Engineering/Pre-Med with a Minor in Mathematics. I am proficient in a wide variety of subjects such as all math from algebra 2 - calculus II, basic engineering programs (AutoCad, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, C++, & Matlab), SAT Writing & Math, and many more. I am a very friendly and personable individual. I have worked with children from age 5-17/18. I also work 1:1 with a child psychiatrist testing children for ADD/ADHD. I also worked with special needs children for two years in my high school as a peer leader. I enjoy spreading the knowledge that I have learned to other kids/young adults because I am passionate about being there for others to help them through their rough classes just like my tutors were for me. I have to say that many people do not reach out for help because they are embarrassed to have a tutor. I myself felt that same way throughout high school and part of my freshman year of college. I figured out that it is not a bad thing to reach out for help when you need it. It doesn't make you look less intelligent, it means that you are helping yourself become more educated in a certain subject. I still, in college, request tutors because even I need help so my motto is "If you need help, just ask. It is not a bad thing, it is a good thing."
